It’s the ultimate tool for taking control of your nutrition, ensuring a balanced and effortless approach to well-being.
Highlight
The Problem
The frustration everyone had
As young adults grow increasingly health-conscious, more people want to monitor, manage, and improve their well-being. However, they struggle to know which supplements to take, leading to confusion and even skipping essential nutrients. They often wish to meet their nutritional needs through food but aren’t sure what to pick or how to plan meals that fulfill these goals.
HMW Statement:
How might we help people who lacks health knowledge, simplify their approach to long-term health in a way that is stress-free and tailored to their lifestyle?
Americans spend billions per year on these products, even though most people don't need them.
It's just the thinking that we take the pills can somehow improve your health or protect you from disease. Do we REALLY need it, no one knows but you.
Research
Conducting Survey
I ask how they would decide their supplement intake. Surprisingly,
64.7%
of participants would ask for advice from their friend and family
>
47.1%
of participants will seek for recommendations from a healthcare professional
50%
people will do their own research
Belief lies in prioritizing kinship and friendship over medical professionals, with the added benefit of saving time and fiscal resources.
What is their main challenge?
Lack of time to track consistently (61.8%)
Difficulty on understanding nutritional needs (44.1%)
Conflicting information from different sources (44.1%)
An application should be simple, direct, and customized for user's unique needs. Content ought to be precise and vetted by experts.
Other found
52.9% prefer eating from a mix of food and supplement to improve their health situation.
Only 1 person over 34 participants own a smart fridge, I realize most people can’t afford a smart fridge and why don’t I make a tool to help their life eaiser as te feature as smart fridge.
Noted to the direction of my app
Moving on to Interview
I found out that most people have concern on not knowing what kind of supplement they should take. Three people from the interviewees missed taking supplement before. All participants agree that they had experienced frustration and confusion when choosing and understand their needs.
🍽
💦
One takeaway is that most of my interviewees agree is that the process from researching, picking supplement, to maintaining the daily habit is overwhelming and not pleasing.
My Concept
Target Audience
PRIMARY
Health enthusiasts
Young people who ho seek efficient ways to manage nutrition and supplements with personalized guidance
SECONDARY
Health-conscious individuals interested in optimizing their diet and supplement intake
People overwhelmed by conflicting health information
Design Process
Low-Fi Wireframe
& Usability Testing
Here are some of my initial thought processes regarding our research and the goals for our app. The low-fidelity designs provided the first glimpse of how my app could potentially work, with all the key functionalities implemented.
I observe that rarely individuals possess a smart refrigerator. My design approach needs to be adjusted to assist those without any smart gadgets in simplifying their lives on task flow 2.

Notable explorations
Which features should go on the nav bar?
In ensuring an intuitive user flow that felt intuitive and well-connected, I iterated on several approaches to the user flow, conducting user testing at each stage.
How do you scroll for groceries?
I conducted a quick AB testing to see which user flow works the best to user. This exercise can help me build a stronger connection to user that how they would approach items and what they value.
Users may prefer a larger scrolling area to avoid inadvertent button presses
Design B, while having an extra step, preserves a clear and instinctive user flow
The top-left 'back' icon could be swapped with a 'close' icon. Users can always generate a new list by pressing the 'regenerate' icon and re-entering their queries
How do you delete item then?
I created four versions to test out which is the best method to delete items. This exercise has enriched my understanding of user interaction with icons and actions.
Design Identity
Mascots - Lemo
Utilizing the playful aspect of lemon, I drew the mascots in Procreate. They help guide users through the experience, becoming their friend for the long journey that lies ahead.
Logo Icon
This logo features a cheerful lemon character, representing health, freshness, and simplicity. The green and yellow colors evoke nature and vitality, creating a friendly and approachable identity that aligns with the app's focus on nutrition and well-being.
Color
The lively shades of green and yellow reflect the vitality of nature, encapsulating the essence of a healthy lifestyle for the user efficiently.
Typography
I possess the blend of Recoleta and Red Hat Text, a lively and innovative typography, that equally delivers a clarity in messaging for users on both digital and print if needed.
Component Library
I've assembled a broad range of reusable User Interface components for building friendly interfaces. Our sections, including buttons, forms, and cards, are designed to be easy to understand, and focused on the user.

Discovering Insights, Breaking Stereotypes
Lemo project strengthened my connection with users and deepened my understanding of their struggles. I aimed to create a solution that relieves the stress of choosing supplements, knowing firsthand the overwhelming experience of browsing endless options in stores. From brainstorming to testing, I gained valuable insights that challenged my assumptions about people's habits, for example like people would value advice from family and friends over professionals or they don't value much about the price of groceries as they don't mind to pay a little more for a healthier lifestyle. I’m deeply grateful to the participants who shared their experiences and provided data, enabling me to build this project efficiently and meaningfully with their support.
